Vodafone
Moving and migrating large volumes of mobile numbers, and the associated information that goes with these numbers, can be a huge and labour intensive task. When the service provider is one of the leading UK providers, Vodafone, with a customer base of over 100 Million and having interests across 27 countries – the size of these seemingly easy tasks can become a major challenge. Part of Vodafone’s ongoing search for improving value for money and customer service is to seek for improvements in business processes that can make a difference. To speed up and simplify the migration of numbers was targeted as a possible improvement that could pay dividends for both the company and customers. The initial method deployed was a purely manual system with data being inputted on a single entry basis. This was both resource intense, repetitive, slow and prone to operator error. Vodafone recognised that this process could be improved and began the search for a better method in order to automate the process. This process automation coincided with a project to be undertaken for Vodafone on behalf of the National Health Service. The project required 750,000 numbers to be migrated within a two month period. The old manual method would not have been able to achieve these tight time scales. The automated system was deployed and successfully completed the task within the allotted time. “This process has been a life saver for us.”  Stated the Vodafone Operations manager. ” The speed of response and flexibility and innovation delivered by SQS-UK made the programme a success. Their excellent service and support made a real difference. The programme has saved Vodafone the equivalent of 20 people as well as speeding up the processes.

NetCologne
Three partners founded NetCologne Gesellschaft für Kommunikation mbH in Cologne in 1994: the utility company GEW (Gas-, Elektrizitäts- und Wasserwerke Köln AG) and the savings banks Stadtsparkasse Köln and Kreissparkasse Köln. A regional fixed-network operator, the company provides the city of Cologne and the surrounding region with communication technology geared to the future. NetCologne's products range from telephone services to Internet and data services right through to complex corporate networks and special solutions for the media sector. In addition, about 75,000 broadband customers benefit from the high-quality TV and radio channels and the innovative telephone and Internet services provided by MultiKabel.
